Be a MemberExplore the untouched beauty of Sangihe, where natural seclusion and untamed landscapes await. Sandy beaches meet towering calderas, and under the cover of night, witness the spectacle of red-hot lava spewing from the Siau volcano. Dive enthusiasts can even explore underwater volcanoes and lava flows, such as the Ruang Lava Flow—a vast expanse of black lava cascading into the sea, transformed into a stunning coral reef.
One of the highlights is Mahengetang Volcano, offering a unique opportunity to dive into a real underwater volcano. Below the surface, discover a desolate landscape strewn with large boulders and surrounded by hundreds of tiny bubbles racing upward as gases escape from the depths. Witness the transformation as new life begins to take hold amidst the sulfurous deposits, with tiny sea stars, algae, worms, and sprouting corals creating a new coral reef ecosystem.
On the opposite side of Mahengetang Volcano, a once-barren seascape has blossomed into a vibrant coral reef, teeming with life. Explore the southernmost island of the group, Biaro Island, characterized by a plateau dotted with patch reefs, pinnacles, and abundant soft coral cover. Encounter schools of sweetlips, snappers, and bump-head parrotfish completing this captivating underwater scene.
Sangihe offers a truly unique diving experience, where the raw beauty of nature unfolds beneath the waves, showcasing the remarkable resilience and diversity of marine life in this remote Indonesian paradise.
