After being greeted at the airport or hotel by the Scubaspa Zen crew, travel to the harbor and embark on Scubaspa ZEN. Enjoy a short rest and unpack. Crew introductions and boat briefings led by the Cruise Managers will be followed by a buffet-style welcome dinner at the restaurant.
Witness the astonishing sky and calm atmosphere of Rinca Island while practicing yoga as the sun rises. No trip to Komodo is complete without visiting the home of the world’s largest lizard. Trek the hills in the morning to spot Komodo dragons and other wildlife.
Waking in north Komodo, spend the day around the small island of Gili Lawa Darat. Tide permitting, we can prepare a beach setup here or you can spend your afternoon with a treatment selection at the spa onboard. For divers, some of the most famous dive sites in the Komodo National Park are here: Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, and Shotgun. This is one of the best places to see the majestic mantas, sharks, and maybe even dolphins. Scubaspa ZEN will voyage to Siaba Besar after dinner.
Wake next to Sangeang with its beautiful, picturesque (and active!) volcano and enjoy yoga on the beach in the morning. Dive or snorkel on the magical bubble reef dive site, Hot Rocks, for an explosion of color and bubbles from beneath the black sand. Sangeang is also known for its macro life; you can find nudibranch, ghost pipefish, frogfish, and long-arm octopi at the famous dive sites of Deep Purple, Hot Rocks, The Estuary, and Bonto Bay. The dramatic volcano view will be the background of your special BBQ onboard Scubaspa ZEN. Enjoy cocktails under the clear and starry sky on the sundeck before cruising east towards Gili Lawa Darat.
Satonda Island is the perfect place to wash a little salt off the skin and out of the hair. The water-filled caldera has created a beautiful lake nestled in the very heart of the island, just fifty meters from the beach. There is also a myth about Pohon Harapan (Hope Tree). Some say that any wish would be granted if you pray under the tree and then hang whatever you have in its branches.
Teluk Saleh, as part of Sumbawa Island, is famous for whale sharks. The activity will start early morning when the sun rises from the east, where the whale sharks are active to find a small fish for their breakfast.
The journey continues to the east, Moyo Island, which is famous for being a diving destination. Jump into the water to meet sharks, mantas, blue-ring octopus, pigmy, and much more. Or walk into the jungle to spot wild pigs, deer, monkeys, Cacatua, and a huge diversity of birds and butterflies. Enjoy the sunset, look at the sky, and be astonished by the beauty of the Milky Way.
Awake to the Maldivian atmosphere of the Gili islands. The three Gili Islands of Trawangan, Air, and Meno, located off Lombok, promise something for everyone. Turtles are undoubtedly one of the highlights of diving around the Gili Islands – both green and hawksbill species are abundant.
Reef sharks are frequently spotted, along with tuna, barracuda, trevally, and occasional passing eagle rays. There is a broad range of marine fish, most notably including sweetlips, pufferfish, angelfish, batfish, butterflyfish, lionfish, scorpionfish and schooling snapper, fusilier, and damsels. On the rubble and sand patches, look out for odd-shaped bottom dwellers and critters.
Nusa Penida offers a fantastic opportunity to dive with Mola mola (the oceanic sunfish) and manta rays, two of the most remarkable large creatures to swim within the ocean. This is not the only remarkable marine life found diving around this amazing little island. Silvertip and Grey Reef sharks often swim in the currents around Nusa Penida. Hawksbill turtles and a variety of pufferfish and lionfish are commonly encountered floating over the reef.
