Venturing to Batanta, you’ll discover extraordinary muck dive sites showcasing vibrant nudibranchs, otherworldly critters, and enchanting coral bommies.
The Dampier Strait beckons with an abundance of nutrients, attracting formidable predators such as giant trevallies, yellowfin tuna, rainbow runners, and an occasional presence of sharks, including blacktip, grey reef, and white tip sharks. This stretch is renowned as one of the rare locations worldwide where two species of Manta rays can be encountered on the same dive site.

Itinerary Extras: * We require a minimum of 75 logged dives and AOW (or equivalent) certification. If clients have between 50 and 75 logged dives, they can book a private dive guide (subject to availability).
Marine Life: At least 75 percent of all coral species can be found in Raja Ampat, divers can expect a range of topography from soft corals and sea fans, to hard corals, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, deep drop-offs, caves, black sand, and white sand. Giant manta rays, sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, various seahorse species, and massive schools of reef fish are the norm, plus the delightful wobbegong sharks and epaulette sharks inhabit these waters too
We embark in Sorong, Western Papua. The first night we will be traveling all night to arrive in Misool early the next morning. You will be amazed by the diversity you will find here. An abundance of marine life, a variety of underwater seamounts, smaller pinnacles, coral walls, and coral gardens, covered in giant sea fans, soft corals in all colors, massive table corals, and countless fish. This is a great place to find the elusive epaulette shark or walking shark. This nocturnal shark sneaks up on its prey by ‘walking’ closer and closer to it.
Batanta has fantastic muck dive sites with the most colorful nudibranchs you can imagine, alien-looking critters, and beautiful coral bummies.
The Dampier Strait is where we can find even more nutrients bringing in bigger predators like giant trevallies, yellowfin tuna, rainbow runners, and even some sharks like blacktip, grey reef, white tip sharks. It is also one of the few places in the world where we can find two species of Manta rays on the same dive sites.
