Embarking on a 12-day, 11-night diving adventure with Samambaia Liveaboard is more than a journey beneath the waves; it’s an immersion into the heart of the Komodo National Park’s underwater wonders. From the moment you set foot on Labuan Bajo to the final farewell in the same port, this expedition promises an extraordinary blend of thrill, discovery, and tranquility.

The initial check dive at Sebayor Kecil sets the tone for the upcoming days, ensuring your equipment is finely tuned for the remarkable dive sites that lie ahead. As you traverse the park, each day brings forth a kaleidoscope of marine life, vibrant coral reefs, and unique landscapes both below and above the water.

The meticulous planning of three day dives, a sunset/night dive, and diverse surface interval activities ensures that your experience goes beyond the typical liveaboard journey. Whether you’re trekking to breathtaking viewpoints, visiting traditional villages, or engaging in water activities like wakeboarding, every moment between dives becomes an opportunity for adventure and cultural enrichment.

The selection of dive sites is a testament to the diversity Komodo offers. From the renowned Crystal Rock and Castle Rock in the north to the captivating Cannibal Rock and Torpedo Alley in Nusa Kode, each site unravels a different facet of the underwater realm. Itenerary

Komodo National Park

Dives: Approximately 34 dives in total

Experience: Open Water – 30 minimum logged dives required.

Day 1 & 2 : Embarkation – Komodo Central & Rinca

Arrival with a plane to Labuan Bajo. You will be picked up by crew members at the airport.
Embarkation in the port of Labuan Bajo. A general orientation follows. After an initial general dive briefing, we will do our check dive with you at an easy and protected dive site. Check dive in the sense of you checking your gear and weights, making sure the camera housings are properly sealed and our guides checking your buoyancy. No skill demonstrations are required.
Dive site: ‘Sebayor Kecil’. Over the day we are heading south through the National Park and look into doing an easy drift dive over an impeccable reef, like ‘Tatawa Besar’. To cap this first day of diving we offer a night dive at Wai Nilu, which ranks within the Top 5 favorite night dive spots all over Indonesia of our Cruise Director.

Day 3 – 11

Three-day dives of minimum 1-hour duration
One sunset/night dive (unless we have to cover a serious amount of miles overnight)
Activities during the surface intervals such as:
– scenic rides through lagoons and coves in our tenders
– trekking to breathtaking viewpoints
– visits to secluded perfect beaches
– excursions to traditional villages
– whale watching
– water activities such as wakeboarding and kayak
Dive Sites we may visit but not limited to :
– Rinca Trekking.
– Nusa Kode: Cannibal Rock, The Yellow Wall of Texas, Devil’s Corner, Torpedo Alley.
– Komodo Central: Batu Bolong, Manta Point.
– Komodo – The North: Crystal Rock, Castle Rock, The Golden Passage, The Cauldron, Lighthouse.
– Komodo National Park diving at it’s best.

Day 12: Disembarkation in Labuan Bajo
Depending on your flight schedule, our crew will check your luggage in for you in advance so you can rest on board and let us shuttle you to the airport when your plane is ready to leave.

Marine Life: Bumphead parrotfish, bamboo sharks, marble rays, nudibranchs, dusky sharks, jawfish, bubble coral shrimps, leaf fish, porcelain crabs, pygmy seahorses, schools of barracudas, trevally, and mackerel, white tips, black tips, grey reef sharks, turtles, octopus, frogfish, manta rays, dugong, banded pipefishes, mandarin fishes, Wonderpus, Indian Walkman.

Komodo & Around (Macro Trip)

Dives: Approximately 30 dives in total
