The Seven Seas liveaboard 13D12N Maumere, Komodo & Sumbawa excursion is the best way to travel the Flores Sea. It takes you from Maumere to Sumbawa and is perfect for divers who want to experience all the amazing marine life in East Indonesia. This long route connects three unique and amazing areas, giving you a unique view of one of the world’s most biodiverse maritime corridors. Start your trip in Maumere Bay on Flores Island. The coral gardens there have been protected for decades, and they offer amazing wall dives, gentle slopes full of reef fish, and chances to see turtles, reef sharks, and other colorful marine life against a beautiful backdrop of volcanic peaks. As the Seven Seas liveaboard heads west, it goes through the famous Komodo National Park, where it dives at Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, and Crystal Rock, which are all well-known dive sites. These sites are full of nutrients, which draw in schools of trevallies, reef sharks, and graceful manta rays.
The trip ends at the clear, tranquil waters of Sumbawa, where sheltered coves allow for close encounters with seasonal whale sharks remote from congested tourist areas. This is a genuinely magical wildlife experience that makes for a great ending. This 13-day trip has more than just the famous sights. At every turn, you’ll find macro treasures, from the lush slopes of Maumere where pygmy seahorses and exotic nudibranchs live, to the southern bays of Komodo where hairy frogfish and flamboyant cuttlefish live, and finally to the untouched reefs of Sumbawa, which give you a real sense of frontier exploration. The long time period lets you dive at each region’s famous spots more than once, see amazing things at night, and embark on land trips, such the memorable experience of viewing Komodo dragons in their native home. On the Seven Seas liveaboard, expert guides, comfortable accommodations, and a deep understanding of this diverse marine corridor come together to create an unforgettable safari. It’s perfect for divers who want to see all the amazing underwater sights in the Flores Sea in one smooth trip, from the calm reefs of Maumere to the gentle giants of Sumbawa.
