Be a MemberExamining the past seven days reveals a tapestry of remarkable events spun over the Komodo National Park as your memorable trip with Solitude Adventurer draws to an end. From the busy harbor of Labuan Bajo, where your aquatic journey started, to the various underwater worlds of the northern and southern areas, every day revealed a fresh story of underwater beauties.
The warm, transparent waves of the north enveloped you, revealing drift dives, sandy bottom macro wonders, and sporadic spectacular Manta Ray visits. With its colder temperatures and denser plankton life, the south offered a different but equally magical environment that would let you concentrate on the minute features of the reef and come across amazing macro aquatic life.
Your trip featured exciting visits in Manta Alley and Horseshoe Bay, where you could see the magnificent Manta Ray dance. Investigating Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut in the north, you negotiated difficult currents around underwater pinnacles to expose the vivid marine tapestry rendering Komodo a diver’s dream come true.
The last day of your trip provided a window into the prehistoric world of Komodo Dragons on Rinca Island, a fascinating terrestrial relative to the underwater marvels. Hundreds of fruit bats’ rhythmic movement indicated a poetic farewell that would live on in your recollections.
The Solitude Adventurer crew wishes you farewell at Labuan Bajo airport, thanks for your adventurous attitude and shared moments of awe. May your trip home be as rich and fulfilling as the depths you visited in the Komodo archipelago till the tides bring us back together. Safe travels; we hope to welcome you back aboard for yet another story of exploration not too far off!

Sebayur Kecil, Sebayur Besar (optional check dive at Bidadari) (2 dives)
We wake up in the north of Komodo National Park. 3-4 Dives are done today. Two dives in the north of Komodo Park and 1-2 dives in the south. The northern area of Komodo National Park is characterized by clear and relatively warmer water (25-27C). The corals thrive from the strong currents that flow between the Flores Sea and Indian Ocean through the channel. There are small islands and beautiful white sandy beaches scattered throughout the channel. Komodo island to the west and Flores to the east create a dramatic backdrop, adding to the excitement of the adventure. There are drift dives, sandy bottom macro dives, pinnacles and even the occasional Manta Ray that are in store for you in the north. As we head south and near the Indian Ocean, the water temperature begins to get cooler (18-25C). The colder water creates a breeding ground for plankton causing the water to become greener and dense with life. With decreased visibility, divers begin to focus more on the reef itself, rather than the wide-angle landscape. This brings into focus an array of interesting macro marine life. An afternoon dive and night dive are done in the area of Pink Beach.
Early in the morning, with sea conditions allowing in the southern end of the park, we will sail to Manta Alley and onto Horseshoe Bay, where there’s a possibility to have amazing Manta Ray interactions. We spend the day in the south of the channel with both pelagic and macro marine life. As we make our way to Padar island in the afternoon for a viewpoint hike, guests will be rewarded with an amazing view of the surrounding islands. There are 3 dives and a land excursion on this day. Overnight we sail to the north of Komodo Park.
We spend 2 days in the north, diving around Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut. Many of the famous Komodo dive sites are in this area. There are channel drift dives, underwater pinnacles teeming with fish and beautiful coral. Currents can be strong here, as the ocean flows around the small islands, an exciting challenge awaits. We will have 3-4 dives each day.
Today is our last day of diving and we will have two morning dives. After the second dive it’s lunchtime, followed by the long-awaited land excursion to see the Komodo Dragons on Rinca island! After the land tour we will slowly make our way back to Labuan Bajo, as the crew washes your equipment please relax and enjoy. Before arriving in port, we will stop to view the nightly migration of hundreds of fruit bats. An impressive spectacle to see. We arrive to Labuan Bajo in the evening.
(Disembarkation) Our crew will transport you to the airport. We hope to see you again soon. Thank you!
