The itinerary provided by KLM Sunshine Liveaboard Indonesia promises an exhilarating and unique diving experience over eight days. Upon arrival on Day 1, guests are warmly welcomed with a check-in process, a refreshing welcome drink, lunch, and a comprehensive briefing, followed by cabin allocation. The day concludes with three exciting dives, setting the tone for an adventurous dive expedition.
Days 2 to 6 offer a packed schedule of 3 to 4 dives per day, allowing guests to explore Sangihe’s remarkable underwater landscapes and volcanic features. From diving into underwater volcanoes like Mahengetang and experiencing lava flows to discovering the rich marine life around Biaro Island’s patch reefs and pinnacles, each dive promises unique and unforgettable encounters with the natural wonders of the region.
On Day 7, guests enjoy a final morning dive before the expedition concludes on Day 8. After breakfast and check-out, the crew assists guests with disembarkation, bidding them farewell with memories of an extraordinary diving adventure in Sangihe’s secluded and untamed waters.

Sangihe‘s best feature is its natural seclusion and untamed nature. Calderas rise from sandy beaches and at night, red-hot lava spews from the Siau volcano. You can even dive into an underwater volcano or a lava flow. Cool. Ruang Lava Flow is a massive swath of black lava that flows down the mountain into the sea where it becomes a beautiful coral reef.
Mahengetang Volcano is a sight not to be missed. It may be your only chance to dive into a real underwater volcano. The vent, just below the surface, is desolate and strewn with huge boulders. Hundreds of tiny bubbles race to the surface as gasses escape from deep inside the volcano. Everything is covered with yellow “dust” (sulfurous deposits). Look closely though and you’ll see tiny sea stars, algae, small worms, and sprouting corals–a new coral reef in the making. The other side of the volcano has already been successfully colonized with the once barren seascape now a lovely coral reef.
The southernmost island in the group is a plateau with patch reefs, pinnacles, and lots of soft coral cover called Biaro Island. Groups of sweetlips, snappers, and bump-head parrotfish complete the scene.

After breakfast and check-out, we start preparing for disembarkation. We say goodbye to our guests and wish them farewell!
