Experience: Advanced Open Water – 50 minimum logged dives required.

The Banda Sea is located at the middle of the Maluku Islands between the two top diving destinations Papau and Java. The plankton-rich waters support reefs and sea mounts with abundant marine life. This itinerary includes a visit to Manuk, the island of snakes and the best place to dive with sea snakes. Excellent muck diving will also be found diving around Ambon where you will find world-class macro life all waiting to be photographed.  

Dive:  Ambon, Komba, Nusa Laut, Ring of Fire

Diving:

• Number of dives:  28 – 40 depending on length of trip
• Highlights:  Frogfish, nudibranchs, cuttlefish, seahorses, pipefish, juvenile spadefish and batfish and harlequin shrimp.  Large animals will be mobula and eagle rays, sharks, and possibly schooling hammerheads. Big animals such as sharks, barracudas, tuna and trevallies can be seen.
• Skill level:  We recommend at least 50 dives of experience and advanced open water certification. Most dives are conducted as drift dives.
• Reefs:  Healthy and lush hard and soft corals
