On this 10-day Bali tour you will drive to Lake Bratan to visit the scenic Ulun Danu Temple, stopping to admire scenery en-route. Continue driving to a small mountain road that overlooks two superb lakes: Buyan and Tramblingan. Stop for photos and to enjoy the scenery before descending remote area of Munduk in Northern Bali. Explore Amed, a quiet seaside village that offers fishing, snorkeling and diving on the nearby reef on a black rocky beach and enjoy a cruise in a traditional wooden Prahu boat when spectacular views of the coast will be revealed.

Incorporate some responsible travel into your program with a visit to a community-based tourism project in the village on Tunjunk where you will set about interacting with locals and providing a helping hand when you learn how to plant, transplant and harvest rice. Day 1Arrival Denpasar - Canggu

This morning is free at leisure. Spend some time relaxing by the pool, enjoying the peaceful view, or opt to join in the local activities in the village compound.

In the afternoon the tour guide and driver will pick you up for today’s program. First, visit the royal Taman Ayun temple in Mengwi. This temple is known for its unique multi-roofed structures and its beautiful setting in a fish pond.
Later this afternoon, drive to Tanah Lot to enjoy its famous sunset. This temple is set dramatically on a rock in the sea and can only be reached by the local Hindu population during low tide.
Return to your hotel. Dinner at leisure.

Day 3Canggu - Jatiluwih - Bedugul - Munduk (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfast and check out you will start with a scenic drive up the slopes of Mount Batukaru the second highest volcano in Bali (2 271m) where you visit Bali’s UNESCO listed Jatiluwih. Enjoy the widest panoramic view of Bali’s iconic rice terraces. This area is known as the rice granary of Bali and one of the best examples of subak the traditional irrigation system used by rice farmers in Bali.
Here we go for a 1-hour leisurely walk through the rice fields before lunch at local restaurant.
Next we drive on towards Bedugul to visit its market where you will find many tropical fruits, vegetables, spices and flowers such as orchids.
Visit the Ulun Danu temple, probably one of the most photographed places in Bali. The temple is set in the middle of the lake’s calm waters on a small bit of land giving the impression that it is floating.
Continue the drive to Munduk via a road with the most amazing views over 2 crater lakes, Tamblingan and Buyan. The driver will certainly make a stop on a place where you can take the best photos.
Arrive at hotel in Munduk for check in and remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4Munduk - Trekking - Pupuan - Batu Bolong - Pekutatan (B,D)

Munduk is the ideal location for outdoor activities and this morning you’ll have the chance to explore with a light trek. Munduk is surrounded by tropical rainforest with beautiful waterfalls and because of its cool temperature (20-25°C) many fruits, vegetables and spices are grown in the area.
Start with your guide and additional local guide for a nice 2 hours trekking in the area of Munduk to explore its three waterfalls and numerous plantations (including coffee, cloves and local spices) On the way back stop in the village for tasting local coffee.
Return to your hotel and rest of the morning at leisure to refresh and change.

Check out from your hotel in Munduk and proceed to Pekutatan. This is a very scenic road passing remote villages like Pupuan and passing through the unique Batu Bolong, a huge Banyan tree serving as a road tunnel on this small road before it goes down to the Western coast of Bali.
Check in to you hotel in Pekutatan on the Western Coast of Bali and remainder of the day is free at leisure.
The area is famous for its wild black sandy beaches which are favourite spots for surfers

Day 5Pekutatan - Rambut Siwi - Perencak - Gilimanuk - Ketapang (B,D)

Morning and lunch are free at leisure.
Early in the afternoon at 13:00, your tour guide and driver will pick you up for the next part of your journey. First we will visit one of Bali’s least known but beautiful temple of Rambut Siwi.
Next we go to the Perancak Turtle Conservation Centre. Here you will see how they release baby turtles in the ocean. Observe nearby the unique and colorful fisherman boats in the estuary of Perancak
We drive on to Gilimanuk on Bali’s western shores for check in at the Ferry terminal before crossing the Bali straits to the island of Java for a scenic journey to Ketapang.
Upon arrival in Ketapang Ferry terminal in the island of Java , check in at your hotel located in the coastal town of Ketapang next to Banyuwangi and opposite the island of Bali.
Dinner included at the hotel.

Day 6Ketapang - Ijen Crater - Kaliklatak - Ferry Gilimanuk in Bali - Menjangan (B,L)

Awake early this morning for an excursion to Mount Ijen. Breakfast is served at the hotel before setting off by 4WD jeep (or alternatively a breakfast box will be provided).
After a 1h15 drive, reach the Paltuding base camp (1850m). The trek to the top is 3 kilometres and follows a wide, packed dirt pathway. At the top of Mount Ijen is a large crater lake surrounded by sulphur mines and during your walk, you will probably encounter men carrying loads of up to 70 kg, often barefooted, down the mountainside.
Upon reaching the top (2385m) there is time to enjoy the views of the Crater Lake which is 200 meters deep and contains about 36 million cubic meters of steaming, acidic water. Witness the agility and strength of the miners as they collect and carry the sulphur blocks up to the crater rim.

Important notes:
Local authorities only allow watching the scenery from the rim of the crater – It is strictly forbidden to walk down to the lake shore due to very toxic fumes that are escaping from the lake. Only the sulphur porter are allowed to this area.
This trekking requires good physical condition as well as good walking shoes and some warm clothing because of the low morning temperatures.
Mount Ijen is an active volcano therefore access is subject to volcanic activity at the time of visit: an alternative program to Kaliklatak coffee and rubber plantation will be provided if the volcano is closed during your stay.
Weekend surcharge USD 5 per person will be applied for visit to Ijen.

Return via the same route to base camp and continue by road to Banyuwangi. Change vehicle and switch back from jeep to your normal vehicle and continue to Kaliklatak, an old (once Dutch colonial) plantation set on a hill with beautiful vistas.
After a late lunch at the restaurant of the plantation, you will learn everything about coffee, the plant and cultivation as well as the processing and of course taste the final product.
Return via the same route to Ketapang ferry terminal near Banyuwangi to check in at the ferry terminal in Ketapang. Cross the Bali straits to the island of Bali by local ferry for a scenic journey to Gilimanuk on Bali’s western shores.

Upon reaching Bali, you will continue by road the nearby Menjangan located in the West Bali National Park, the one and only national park on the island.
Check in at your hotel late in the afternoon.

Day 7Menjangan - Snorkeling - West Bali National Park (B,L)

This morning meet a local guide form West Bali Ecotourism who will accompany you only for today.
After breakfast you are picked up and brought to the local motorized boat with which you will reach the nearby Menjangan Island for snorkeling together with the local guide.
Snorkeling equipment is provided to explore the area which is by no doubt one of the most fascinating underwater world of Bali.
A lunch box is provided for a simple lunch on board or at the Menjangan Island.
Return to your hotel for the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Dinner is at leisure.

Day 8Menjangan - Seririt - Buddhist Monastery - Banjar Ht Spring - Lovina (B,L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel.
In the late morning around 1100, check out from your hotel in Menjangan and proceed along the Northern coast of Bali towards the coastal town of Seririt
Stop for a delicious lunch at the Kali Manik Eco Resort located 7km before Seririt on a small road near the beach of Pantai Kalisada.
In the afternoon continue driving along Bali Northern coast with some visits on the way between Seririt and Lovina to explore the Bhrama Arama Vihara, the only Buddhist monastery in Bali with stunning view over the North coast of Bali and at the nearby Banjar Hot Springs for some time to relax in the opened air hot springs.
Check in at your selected hotel in Lovina. Remainder of the day is free at leisure.

Day 9Lovina - Beji Temple - Mount Batur - Besakih - Sidemen (B,L)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel.
Drive along the Northern coast of Bali passing by Singaraja the capital of North Bali and continuing towards the Small Village of Sangsit in Buleleng Regency for a visit to Beji temple:
Pura Beji is a Subak temple dedicated to the spirit that looks after the irrigation and rice fields. Built in the 15th century, the temple is famous for its beautiful carvings and is an excellent example of the colorful architectural style of northern Bali.
Continue on a remote mountain road linking the small coastal village of Kubutambahan in the North coast to Kintamani. A volcanic region where Mount Batur is standing with its breathtaking views. Adjacent to the volcano is the large crescent-shaped Batur Lake, all surrounded by the high walls of the crater rim.
Upon arrival at Kintamani you will have enough time to enjoy the impressive views. Although Mount Batur (1412m) is not the highest volcano in Bali, it is the most active and is surrounded by an impressive caldera. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with all-encompassing views over Lake Batur.
We continue driving to reach in the mid-afternoon the famous Besakih temple. Known as the ‘Mother Temple’ of Bali, the temple is located on the western slopes of Mount Agung, Bali highest volcano (2 567 m), Besakih is the largest and most important temple on the island.
Continue the drive over scenic roads to reach the small countryside village of Sidemen for check in late this afternoon to your selected hotel.

Day 10Sidemen - Bali Countryside - Tirta Gangga - Candidasa (B,L)

This morning after breakfast and check out we start with the “Balinese daily life” program for you to discover. When we arrive in the village you are introduced to the local Balinese and are given a conical hat and a bamboo stick. This comes in handy on your 1h walk through ricefields which you will do next. Next it is time to explore your skills as a Balinese farmer, try plowing with cows; planting rice… after this hard work you are served a young coconut
Now we do 3 short workshops, 20min each: Cooking lesson, offering and palm-leaf decoration, arak distillation and iron working.
A true Balinese lunch is served in the village.
We drive away from here and bring a visit to Tirta Gangga. Meaning ‘water of the Ganges’ this sacred water palace was built in the early twentieth century by the last king of Karangasem. It boasts many decorative ponds and fountains, lush plant life and natural bathing pools.
Continue your drive to Candidasa.

Day 11Candidasa - Tengenan - Klungkung - Ubud (B,L)

After breakfast and check out from your hotel you’ll explore Tenganan. The village is home to the Bali Aga people, Bali’s first inhabitants who were here before the arrival of the Majapahit dynasty people who came from Java. You’ll see the village’s unique architecture as well as observe the weaving of the ikat pattern and traditional basket weaving.
Continue along the South Eastern coast to Klungkung. On the way make a stop at Goa Lawa to visit the sacred bat caves one of Bali most sacred temple and which is said to have an underground connection with Besakih Temple.
Upon Arrival in Klungkung visit the former Royal Courts of Justice known as Kertagosa. The highlight here is an elaborately decorated ceiling featuring the wayang style of painting depicting the battle of good versus evil.
Proceed to Ubud and lunch is served upon arrival at a Balinese restaurant.

Day 12Ubud - Kintamani - Tirta Empul - Trekking Sebatu - Balinese Dance (B,L)

After breakfast, depart Ubud for an excursion to Mount Batur.
You’ll drive along small, scenic roads offering beautiful views of the rice fields and the daily life of the Balinese farmers.
We first stop to visit the unique temple of Gunung Kawi. Set amidst lush rice terraces, these 11th century temples feature 10 rock-cut Candi (shrines) carved into the cliff face. They stand at 7-metre-high and combine ancient Hindu and Buddhist temple attributes. There are numerous stairs leading down to the Temple. (good walking shoes are required)
Continue to the nearby village of Tampaksiring village to explore Tirta Empul, a temple famous for its sacred spring water. All Balinese will bathe there at least once a year for a ritual cleaning in these holy waters dedicated to Vishnu.
Continue to Perkedui near Tegalalang for a lunch served at a restaurant overlooks some of Bali most beautiful rice fields.
Enjoy a 1-hour soft trekking from the restaurant. Walk down the amazing rice terraces with your guide and learn about the unique subak irrigation system that is common to Bali. Rice fields are a signature of Bali and these quiet verdant paths lined by palm trees provide great photographic opportunities
Return to your hotel in Ubud for refreshing.
No visit to Bali would be complete without witnessing traditional dance and this evening you will be treated to a performance in Ubud centre.
